Spend an evening exploring the wonders of the night sky at the Virginia Living Museum! Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or simply curious about what shines above us, this monthly after-hours event offers something for every age. Begin your evening with a live planetarium presentation, then experience immersive laser light shows set to iconic music. After sunset, weather permitting, Museum staff and volunteers will have telescopes available for free observing, giving guests the opportunity to view celestial objects through the Museum’s telescopes. Schedule 6:00 PM – The Sky Tonight (Live Planetarium Show)Discover what constellations, planets, and celestial events are visible in the October night sky. 7:00 PM – Fright Light 8:30 PM – Laser Rock 10:00 PM – Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon Telescope Observing Weather permitting, free telescope observing will begin after sunset. Viewing will take place in either the Abbitt Observatory or the Conservation Garden, depending on weather conditions.
